How to make a one-time payment to your provider via Kinside

Did you know that you can pay your child care provider via Kinside? Here's how.

If your provider accepts payments via Kinside, a "Pay provider" button will be available on their profile page, like the one below: 

  1. From your provider's profile, click "Pay provider". The Send a Payment window will pop up. If you are logged in, you won't need to enter your name and email. If you're paying as a guest, you will need to enter both.


  2. Enter the amount you'd like to send and select which category this payment falls into. If you select "Other", you'll need to fill in a brief description, such as... Materials fees.  Click "Continue".

  3. Select your payment method. You can split your payment between up to two payment methods. If you are using an FSA account, you'll need to select an additional method to cover any remaining fees.
    If you haven't added any payment methods previously, you'll need to do so on this screen:


    Note:
    Payments by debit/credit (including DC FSA debit cards) will incur a 3% processing fee. Payments via bank account (ACH) are fee-free! 

  4. While adding a message to the provider is optional, it is recommended that you enter the name of your child or information relevant to the payment. Once you have verified everything is correct, click "Confirm & send".

Once your payment is sent, you'll arrive at a confirmation screen, where you can click to view your payment history. If you have not logged in, you'll be prompted to do so before accessing your payment history.  If you do not have a Kinside account and you'd like to view your history, you'll be directed to create one. 

You'll also receive an email confirmation of your sent payment, as well as a notification once the payment is complete.

Don't see an option to pay your provider? 

This means that your provider hasn't opted into payments. If you'd like to pay your provider using Kinside, send them a message to encourage them to opt in!
